Mastoidectomy. We can offer you surgical treatment for the ear disorder mastoiditis.

The operation known as mastoidectomy removes the diseased mastoid process. We are in a positon to be able to offer the surgical correction of the ear condition of mastoiditis. Mastoiditis is an infection of the mastoid bone. The mastoid bone is a bone located directly behind the ear and is referred to in medicine as the mastoid process. The air-filled cells of the bone, which forms part of the lateral skull base, may become infected, which is not only annoying, but can also endanger normal hearing long-term.

In our practice, we are there to help you, should you decide to undergo surgery for chronic or acute mastoiditis. The mastoidectomy which we offer is an excellent, high-level treatment for both adults and children. It serves primarily to remove the mastoid completely or in parts, to avoid further serious complications. As a supportive measure, we often insert carefully positioned drainage tubes and so-called tympanostomy tubes. What is important, in all cases, is the accompanying antibiotic treatment.
